The Little Miami Half Marathon and 10K is a flat and fast scenic half marathon run along the banks of the Little Miami River. Are you training for a fall marathon or half marathon? This race is a perfect tune-up! Plus, the entire course is run on a shaded bike path, which is a big bonus during Ohio’s humid summer months!

The race starts and finishes in Morrow, OH, just a few miles east of King’s Island, and travels through South Lebanon and Kings Mills. A killer tech shirt, chip timing and a party-like atmosphere at the finish are guaranteed to make this race a kickin’ good time!

Come learn basic navigation skills using map and compass to find your way. In this in-store class you'll learn the parts of a compass, how to read a topographic map and how to use them in tandem. You'll learn how to pinpoint your location through triangulation and then navigate to new locations by following a bearing. You'll also learn how plan routes using a topographic map. This is a hands-on in-store class with some lecture components. Maps and compasses are provided, but bring your own if you prefer. Depending on weather and location, this class may include a portion held outdoors, please dress accordingly.

There are two classes, one at 10:15 AM, and one at 1:30 PM.

Price: $30 members, $50 non-members

      Let’s take a journey through time with Olivia from RRT at Trammel Fossil Park! Cincinnati has many wonderful marine fossils easily discovered at this outcrop in Sharonville. Come collect some fossils, talk about their depositional environment, modes of life, and bring your curiosity! Be ready to get dirty and sift through rocks. 


      Bring water and snacks if you need them and wear closed toe shoes. Optional: rock hammer or shovel, hand lenses, or identification books.

      It's time to lace up the trail runners and go for a run on the trails of Valley View Nature Preserve. Participants can park at the entrance at Pattison Elementary School. With RRT you can explore the preserve's winding fields and wooded trails. We will run a route of about 4 miles.

      Participants are encouraged to wear weather appropriate footwear and clothing for the run. For those seaking additional milage the trails wind and weave with possibilities.

      The trails are great for begginers trail running and are a great introduction. We will aim for a 10-11 minute mile and try to accomodate the groups pace.

      From January 2016 through December 2016, RRT's Kayla lived and worked in Upper Austria. During her time there, she was able to visit 11 countries, including Germany, The Netherlands, England, France, Czech Republic, Iceland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. This talk will cover the logistics to a backpacking style of travel in Europe such as how to pack, transportation, lodging and other useful information.
